Pineapple Cays/Palmetto Point, Eleuthera, Bahamas

Kris and Dean had said yesterday that they were going to depart northbound.  We decided to follow them.

Apparently most of the other boats at Rock Sound decided to do the same thing as it looked like a small regatta out there!

We had a lovely sail with 20+ knots of wind, arriving at the Pineapple Cays mid day.  Sojourn and Charm at anchor.

We had some lunch and hopped in the dinghies for a walk into "town".  The dock is still in disrepair so we anchored the dinghies at the beach.

Walking along the "Queen's Highway".

The destination was the Island Farm that we'd read about for fresh island-grown veggies. A mile and a half walk from the dock.

There were lots of veggies.

Not sure many of them were "island grown" though.....

I did buy the ones I felt were truly island-grown.  Some lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, jalapeno peppers and carrots.  Very expensive though!   I don't think I'd repeat the novelty - I'll just get my veggies at the little grocery stores.

Cool grounds though.

The boys setting out the shopping experience....

Back to the dinghies.

And back to the boats.  Lovely here but not a lot going on.

Nice calm evening with pretty light from the coming sunset.
