We started the day going ashore to help Jerry and Donna with the cleanup of the cruiser hut. Several others came ashore and made quick work of the disassembly of the shades and garbage duty. We said our goodbyes and had the anchor up before noon. Nice day for a sail.
Meshugga was soon sailing north with us.
Being a much bigger boat, they quickly overtook us.
The Meshugga crew hadn't been on Racoon Cay before, so we went for a hike over to the ocean side.
The walk is rather rocky but the ocean side view is beautiful.
Walking north, Nicholas spotted a ledge or a pool in the distance. So we walked about 15 minutes north and found this lovely formation.
The waves would crash over the lip of the ledge.
When a wave wasn't crashing, the pool was lovely. Nicholas couldn't resist taking a plunge.
But a wave would crash over and everything was turbulent. The girls opted to be sane and not climb down the razor rock!
It is a lovely spot!!
Notice something odd about Dee? She "blew out her flipflop" on the razor rock. Impossible to continue with no shoe - so we found a flip flop in the flotsam....not perfect but got her back to the dinghy without cutting her foot up on the harsh rock.
Meshugga invited us over for BBQ - fun evening as always. Played a bit of cards. We ate too much, also as always....
We'll be leaving at first light sailing north to Water Cay so we'll lose internet pretty quickly. If you need to contact us via email, send it to my Winlink address. Should arrive Long Island Tuesday afternoon.
Hey K,
ReplyDelete...another nice hike...it's amazing the difference in the two sides...
Love,
