Busy day!!
We took the dinghy north to retrieve some firewood. The winds are still high and it's causing the swell to be pronounced.
Pretty though.
It made landing the dinghy on the rocky shore a bit of a hassle.
But it didn't take too long to load the dinghy with long pieces of deadfall wood. (We lined the dinghy with a tarp to protect it a bit.)
Back to the cruiser hut we off loaded the wood to the wood pile.
Nichole from New World was at the hut with her kiddos and pitched in to help off load.
I finally remembered to bring my Sharpie ashore to update our Sojourn sign hanging in the hut.
Another year documented!
We sat having a bit of water - Rita and her gang returned from a palm-frond gathering expedition.
Fun to chat in the cool shady breeze.
Back to the boat and we got cleaned up a bit and went over to Como No. Rita and Will had invited us over for lunch. Great hosts, we chatted away about sailing and their homes in Scotland Cay and at Lake Toxaway.
And to top off the day, Darcy and Michelle from New Ambition invited us to play some cards in the evening. Darcy kept score. Five crowns is a new game to us but simple and fun.
Darcy won as he pulled ahead of Duane at the last minute.
Good conversation and good pie!!! Thanks Donna for the cherry pie, what a treat!
It was past "cruiser midnight" when we returned to our boat. A long and fun day.
Hey K,
ReplyDelete...I've never heard of that game before...I'll have to look it up...nice that you updated your board...and I'd be afraid to put all those prickly bits in my boat...haha...
Love,
