We woke to a pretty "half rainbow" off the stern.
Time to get diesel fuel. We'd arranged with "Skinny" to bring the fuel truck over.
No problem getting the fuel - just side-stepped the boat over to the concrete dock wall. The price was a bit steep - $6.75 a gallon....the price you pay to stay in paradise!
We put the bikes out - Duane had to pump all of the tires as they've been sitting in the bags for a couple of months.
We rode over to Shaney's restaurant - no markings outside to indicate it's a restaurant....went inside but found that they were only serving take-out lunch to folks that had called ahead. They offered the only thing they could - a chicken-patty sandwich. We decided that we didn't really want that so opted for a couple of beers on the porch, then we were off on the bikes again.
Riding around the back streets of the small town. Love seeing the nice walls around the houses.
Beautiful shorline. We stopped at the grocery for some fresh items since the next stop will be Ragged Island.
Back to the boat, we put away the groceries and bikes - BTW - love the storage bags we made for the bikes last summer! I went over to pay George our $10 per night dockage fee...and noticed this open electrical panel on the back wall of the office. Interesting building codes they have!
All paid up, we're ready to leave in the morning for the overnight sail back to Ragged Island.
Just about sunset, there was activity at the dock - someone was doing a "photo shoot" of a beautiful young lady. They asked us if she could board our boat for a few shots. Sure! We stayed back in the salon so that we wouldn't be "photo-bombing" their photos.
She had very high-heels on. She stepped on our windlass button and let out a few feet of chain accidentally. It's loud and it scared her so she said "I'm ready to be off this boat!".
I turned my flash off and took this photo of her later on the dock. Interesting watching them as they took what seemed like 1000 photos. I have no idea what the purpose of the photos were.
We had leftovers for dinner and watched the last few episodes of Yellowstone. We'll leave sometime in the morning as it's about 22 hours over to Ragged Island.
Hey K,
ReplyDelete...it sure is pretty there too...what happened to the other half of your rainbow...looks like you had a nice ride around the island...and that's interesting about the photo shoot...maybe your boat will wind up in SI...haha...
Love,
