Little Harbour, Long Island, Bahamas

Up early for departure southbound.  Meshugga stayed for the day at Calabash to complete the repair to their roller furler.

Forecast was for fairly light winds.

As soon as we rounded the point off the north end of the island we headed to deep water.  Fishing poles were out.  We eventually pulled up all the sails as the wind ended up giving us just a small boost to the single engine running.

No fish were landed...but we did see several of these huge sport-fisher boats going up and down the island at a high rate of speed.

The fish must be calling them somewhere else!

Approaching the narrow entrance to Little Harbour was a bit intimidating!  The  swell from the east was breaking most of the way across the channel.  Both engines running we just rode a swell into the bay.  Once inside the bay, all was calm.

Anchor down just as the sun set.

We watched the end of the British crime series Broadchurch and had an early night.  Just a small surge from side-to-side rocking us to sleep.  We'll be offshore all day and night Tuesday, arriving Inagua on Wednesday during the day.  Meshugga will be sailing to meet us there, hopefully arriving around the same time.

  1. Hey K,
...glad you're safely anchored again...what did you think of the ending...were you surprised or had you figured it out?...I of course watched the ending first as it was way to stressful for me...
    Love,
