The Three Manta-teers at anchor.
Leslie had arranged for us to go ashore to the Iguana Outback Lodge. It's just two little cabins and a bar....normally just for the use of the resort customers. But we had met the owner, Henry, when we were at the government docks a week or so ago. He invited us all to come have a beer. So we dinghied over in the very shallow water.
A couple of local fishermen were at the shore cleaning their conch catch. Note our boats in the anchorage in the background for reference.
The lodge is completely off the grid - about 12 miles from town. They use solar and diesel generator power only.
We sat around waiting for Henry to come from town. He graciously offered to bring us any groceries we might need - so we gave him a short list. The Bahamians are so nice!! (And they understand how hard it is to stay well-stocked when you're so remote...)
Here's Henry - so friendly. He owns the resort and comes from town twice a day to make sure his guests are well fed and have everything they need.
Chatting with their fishing guide. He gave us some tips for our next destination (Hog Sty Reef).
And soon it was getting dark - and we had a bonfire to build! So we all departed in the falling tide in about 6" of water.
Took the dinghies to a protected little cove and made quick work of getting a bonfire going.
Roasted some hot dogs and chatted as usual.
And that was it for the night! Back to the boats for our last night here.
Beautiful sunrise this morning! Love watching that little orange orb peek above the horizon!
That sounds like a lot of fun...people are so nice there...
