Another hiking day! This time to Mirado El Silencio park at the Arsenal Volcano. Early in the morning the cloud cover was heavy.
Beautiful scenery though.
Sharon really enjoys orchids and knows a lot about them. She pointed out lots of interesting facts.
I would have never even seen this one that looks like a lady slipper without her pointing it out.
As the morning progressed the volcano became more visible.
Some of the terrain continues to remind me of New Zealand.
Lots of hiking up and down the hills at the base of the volcano.
Very lush and moist at the low levels. Much more dry the higher we hiked.
Not a lot of wildlife visible. Pretty butterfly
The volcano becoming more visible as the day went on.
Pleasant trails with lots of elevation change!
The volcano view was quite mesmerizing.
On the drive out if the park later in the afternoon we saw this pretty burd. And another "casada" meal. A little different vibe for this one. Really seems like a nice home cooked meal. Very good and just under $8 USD. Fun day but we're plenty tuckered! Moving on to Montverde (cloud forest) tomorrow.
