Jaco, Costa Rica

 It was nice to be in such warm weather!  Most of the trip so far has been pleasant but on the cool side. We’re definitely in beach mode now. 

We decided to walk Jaco Beach and dip our toes into the Pacific. 

We had met a lady in the elevator yesterday that lives full time in the building.  She gave us a few tips  one of them was that you can often see scarlet McCraws in the area.   So we were tickled when we saw two overhead  

I can’t believe all the good photos I got of them!

They were feeding on some trees/bushes on the beach in front of the hotel next door.  

After I’d taken about 100 photos I decided it was time to move on.

The ocean water was surprisingly warm and the dark volcanic sand was extremely soft.

Just a lovely day for a walk.  Almost 6 miles round trip!

We saw several sets of men on horseback.  I assume they are for rent but never saw any with tourists on them. 

We walked one way on the beach and returned to the condo exploring the strip of businesses bordering the beach. 

Colorful walls marked the way. 

Lots of beachside businesses. 

Busy street, lots of restaurants/shops/activities like you’d expect.  A bit noisy and chaotic. 

In the end, we stopped by the Soda China for a huge lunch. One would think it was a Chinese restaurant, but we had read that the lady who owns the restaurant’s name is China. 

bGood fun but we were hot sweaty and sandy from the earlier stroll.  So back to the condo for some more relaxation!
