 We went for a lovely snorkel.

Lots of boats in the anchorage!!!!  14 now....

We were invited over to Charm for wonderful Pizza Night!!! Forgot to take a photo but a great evening!

 The day started a bit dreary....

 

We had a short sprinkle and were treated to a lovely rainbow.

 

Kris & Dean had spotted some caves along the shoreline and wanted to go investigate so we tagged along.

 

We stopped mid-way to say hello to fellow Manta Sea Seeker.  We hadn't met Tina and John before - so we said hello and would see them later this afternoon once they got settled in the anchorage.

 

Around the point of Ragged Island - there are many of these "caves" - washed out areas of the craggy limestone.

 

It's just lovely and was sheltered from the east winds.

 

Kris decided to hop ashore to investigate.

 

It's hard getting back on the dinghy - the rock is razor sharp and there is a bit of a swell bouncing the rubber dinghy around - don't want to get too close and pierce the fabric!

 

This cave looked worth exploring a bit.

 

Kris and I hopped off.  Immediately smelling strongly pungent goat droppings.

This is what the floor of the cave looked like - hard goat droppings abounded.  Would have been great to scoop up for garden fertilizer!

 

The inside of the cave was quite large and lovely once you got over the smell.

 

Getting back on the dinghies was a bit of a trick.  Kris was rather graceful.

 

Back on the dinghy - I sort of "plopped on" from the sharp rocky shoreline.

 Many more small caves.

Soon the shoreline sloped down and was more beachy.  Kris had read that there was a fresh water well - Blackbeards!

So off we went into the brambles to try to locate it.

 We were not successful finding the well - pretty cactus though.

Back to the anchorage - there are 11 boats here now.  The weather will turn a bit unsettled over the next couple of days so everyone wanted to be in the protected area.

 

And went ashore for a nice evening chat.

 More boats are moving into the cut - the anchorage will probably fill up in the next day or so because we have a frontal wave that will be crossing over us tomorrow with strong winds lasting thru the weekend.  Bluejacket coming back into the anchorage after spending a while up at Hog Cay.

 

Duane and I went for a lovely snorkel.

 

Just lovely conditions and water temperature.

 

Added bonus - 3 very nice lobsters!

 

Back to the anchorage another boat, C Language, had arrived.  Before long Kris & Dean came in on Charm.

Jerry and Donna had invited us over for games in the afternoon.   Good fun - they have what seems like an unlimited store of games!!  This one was called 99 and was a interesting team strategy game.

 

Before long it was time to head in for sundown.  Now the boat count is 8 - Sojourn, Bluejacket, Charm, Reach, Solaris, C Language, Kookaburra, and 360.  

At the beach, the guys all got together and rolled a loose old waterlogged piling up on the beach.  It had been out in the channel and was a hazard to incoming boats.

 

Now it's up high enough out of the water that it shouldn't be a problem anymore.

 

Fun evening catching up with everyone.  We expect the anchorage to fill up to capacity in the next 24 hrs before the storm.

 We took advantage of fairly calm weather to head to the southern reefs for a nice long snorkel with the Reach crew for company.

Back to the boats after a couple of hours for a lazy afternoon and buttery lemon lobster pasta for dinner for me.  Spaghetti for Duane.

 We decided not to go with Meshugga to Great Inagua....the weather just isn't going to be fabulous (according to the forecast) and there are not a lot of places to "hide" from nasty swells there.  Meshugga is a much bigger boat than Sojourn, so they'll be fine.  

So not much happening here - the highlight of the day was baking more wheat bread and blueberry pancakes!  Made with real dried blueberries, not the fake blueberries in the mixes.

 It's just Sojourn and Reach in the anchorage now.....but more will show up as some west winds are approaching in a few days and this is excellent protection.

 Laundry day in the morning.....

 

We were invited to Meshugga for supper - I assembled some spring rolls to take as an appetizer.  I used some Impossible Sausage as a substitute for the pork in the recipe.

 

They turned out not so pretty but quite tasty!

 Enjoyed a nice evening and yummy meal including a roast chicken, fresh veggies and a salad!  (I haven't had any lettuce in weeks now....)

 

 

Nice company, making plans for departing for Inagua - will wait until morning to decide if the weather will cooperate or not!
