Matthew Town, Great Inagua, Bahamas

We started the day with a fun ride through the mangroves near Sandy Point Cove.

We went at high tide - and it was still really shallow - had to get off the dinghies a time or two, walking the dinghy to deeper water.

Just beautiful scenery - lots of birds, all too fast for my camera skills.  (No flamingos, yet!)

An old house ruin on the hilltop.  Imagine the view they would have had.

Then we went out towards the breaking reef.  The coral there was very interesting - a lot of small life there - this cool anemone was swaying in the surf.

Back to the boat, our baguettes had risen and ready for the oven.

Duane has perfected this bread.  Since we don't have the normal little "wavy" baguette backing sheet that helps keep their round shape, he improvised with a split piece of bamboo.  Pretty cool and works perfectly!

Beautiful baguettes!  These are toasted just a bit - wrapped up and stored for later "browning" so we'll have extremely fresh bread for dinner when it's our turn again.

Time to move from the Sandy Point anchorage as winds were shifting.  We put out our lines as soon as we got to deep water.   And almost immediately, Duane pulled in a nice Wahoo!!!

He will make some great eating!!!  (Duane is not sunburnt...apparently the camera setting I've chosen does some weird skin tones).

We had a spectacular sail - one of the best ever!!    The winds were just perfect and we have a new record speed on the boat.  This is actually faster than the boat is "supposed" to be able to sail...there was some help from huge following seas that helped push the boat.  Good fun!!

Arriving to Matthew Town - Now & Zen sailing past the lighthouse.

The busy looking port where we hope to tie up to the docks.  It is a small basin where the mail boat lands and is not good for west winds.  Since the winds will be strong but east for a while, we should be able to stay here for a few days.  We hope to do some land exploring and maybe find a few fresh vegetables - I'm down to one banana and a tomato.

The three Mantas fill up the dockage!
