Salt Pond, Long Island, Bahamas

We wanted to top off the diesel tanks before we head back south - but we didn't need much.  Not worth taking the big boat over to the fuel dock so we took the dinghy and a couple of jerry cans.

The helpful and friendly attendant pumped our gas.  We'd used a whopping 16 gallons since leaving Staniel Cay in December.  (And before you ask, she's pumping gasoline for the dinghy in the photo).

Next up, we finally had gotten the call from immigration at the airport that our visa extension had been approved by the Exuma office.   So we rented a car to head to the airport and invited the Skyfall crew to join us again for a little more exploring since we already had the car. Yay, after all that trouble we are extended for 90 more days.....

We stopped on the trip back south to see the Adderly Plantation ruins. We'd never done this trail walk before so it was fun to see something new.

At one time, the folks at Stella Maris had apparently kept this trail maintained....but like a lot of things at Stella Maris, this one seems to have been forgotten.

Still overcast and a bit cool - just 75℉.

So far the trail was pretty well open with some poison wood trees lining the sides of the trail.

Saw this unusual flower pod - not sure what it is!

Nelly was enjoying himself!

Once we were at the actual ruins, there was a nice plaque telling us all about the history.

Neat ruins but if someone doesn't maintain the trail it will be soon overgrown.

Jim braved tasting a cactus flower pod/bloom.

When he didn't immediately die, I tasted it as well.  Sortof sweet and wet.  I guess you could eat it to survive....

Back down to Max's bar for a nice lunch.

And the final adventure was a hike to the "shrimp hole".  We've been there before but Jim and Michelle had not.  Just a cool little cave with red shrimp in it....

We came prepared to swim but it was a bit chilly and no one seemed to want to brave it.  I took photos with my underwater camera....

Fun afternoon.
