Sampson Cay, Exumas, Bahamas

I had picked up these cool shells while snorkeling yesterday.  Unfortunately, they had hermit crabs living in them....impossible to know because they're tucked up tight inside the "twist" of the shell.  But as they sat on the counter, I could see a little fuzzy leg appear - I suppose the hermit crab thought it was time to move so he was going to come out of the shell a bit.  So, we tossed them back to the ocean.  From now on, I'm probably only going to get shells that are high and dry on land where they should be empty.

Oh, the water was soooo calm and clear!!

We had drifted back over our anchor and chain it was so calm.

We traveled the short couple of miles to the Sampson Cay anchorage to be in an easy anchorage for Ed and Cathy on What If.   They've sailed 2 1/2 days pretty much nonstop from Miami so they'll be tired.

But while we waited for their afternoon arrival, we went snorkeling.

Just lovely healthy coral and fish.

Several queen angelfish.  Oh, they're so graceful!  Remember, this photo is not enhanced.  They are really that brilliant!

We spent over an hour just floating and observing.

And then we saw What If!!

This is a photo Ed took of Duane and I on the dinghy greeting their arrival.

The Three Mantateers!!
