The day started off rather overcast....there was a frontal passage that was clear! Storm clouds rolled in and the wind changed direction.
Then we were treated to a very much needed fresh-water washdown.
Soon the winds settled down and it was a lovely day. When the tide was high we motored 3 miles over to the power plant to fill up with their inexpensive diesel. (The dock there is very tall....) The diesel price was $5.16 per gallon - not sure how that compares as we haven't been paying any attention. Update: I asked at Pinders (dock with fuel in Spanish Wells) this morning and their price is $6.22 per gallon so quite a savings and super easy.
After pumping the fuel you have to walk up what seems like 100 steps to pay at the power plant office.
The friendly attendant gave me a quick golf cart ride back to the stairs after I paid our bill.
Duane had to "catch" me as I re-boarded the boat since the dock was still pretty tall.
We had anchored near Skyfall - tons of boats anchored here.....they invited us over to troubleshoot an electrical problem. That was quickly solved as a tripped breaker....but we stayed for quite a while chatting.
Skyfall at sunset.
And Sojourn a little while later. (Thanks, Skyfall, for the photo).
There was another SpaceX launch....partly cloudy skies and lots of anchor lights.
We could easily see the rocket as it was visible in-and-out of the clouds.
And the bright "first stage" as it falls back to earth.
