Rock Sound, Eleuthera, Bahamas

We set out for Staniel Cay, about 60 NM north.  Lovely breeze, sailing along at 6-7-8 knots.  We caught one barracuda and lost 2 really big fish (we assume) and the lures they were attached to!

Just a lovely day, sailing along.....

And then we decided in the late afternoon that the weather had shifted a bit....and we turned the boat east towards Rock Sound instead.  What's another 60 miles???

In the late evening, the winds shifted to the northeast (not forecast)  reluctantly dropped the sails and motored the last 4 hours.  It was relatively slow going on one motor facing a 15 knot headwind (also not forecast).

Passing the Cape Eleuthera resort at about 1AM

Dropped the hook at about 2AM.....both pretty tired!

The first calm anchorage we've had in over a week.  Nice to be in flat water!   The view this morning - I do spy a Manta in the distance.  So nice to be one of 10 boats here vs. one of hundreds in Georgetown!
