Salt Pond, Long Island, Bahamas

Woke to a beautiful sunrise...Skyfall in the distance at Hog Cay.

Had a nice, lazy 4 hour sail back to Salt Pond.  Didn't bother putting the jib out expecting gusty winds (that never really materialized).  Skyfall leading the way.

Back at Salt Pond, cloudy.....threatening rain all afternoon.  The winds were shifting to the west but we were pretty comfortable tucked in closer to the shoreline.

With it spitting rain, I decided to stay in and make some cinnamon rolls and bread.  Duane ran the generator to charge the batteries because we've had virtually no sunshine....

Rolls rising!

And all done (minus the one I ate as a "sample").

And we had a bit of a catastrophe - when Duane turned the generator off, the inverter was also turned off....about a 1/2 hour later I noticed that the bread-maker was not on.  OOPS!  (The bread-maker cycle is 3 hours)  I couldn't immediately figure out how to turn it back on mid-cycle.  It always wanted to start at the beginning "knead" stage.  So I dumped the half-way risen dough into a backing pan and let it rise again.

Since the oven was already warm from the cinnamon rolls, it worked out fine.

Slightly more dense than the normal loaf but will be fine for several days of sandwiches!

We stayed in for the blustery night - we're watching an episode or two each night of the series Atlanta.  It's well rated/reviewed - just getting to know the characters.

  1. Thank goodness the inverter off did not affect the cinnamon rolls. That would have been a true disaster :)
