London

First on the sightseeing list today was the Tower of London.  A historic castle on the River Thames with a moat (or used to have a moat)

And then we walked over the Tower Bridge for views of the city.

The iconic Tower Bridge that people often think is London Bridge…

More bridge views. A popular Place.

Walking along the Thames, a restored wharf area.

The actual London Bridge….not so fancy.

Back to the Tower Bridge, it opened to let a large ship out…

Plenty of room!

More cool old buildings…

Then on to a busy mostly food shopping area - the Borough Market. You could get 100’s of varieties of cheese, breads etc.  neat place but hectic. London is surprisingly an outdoor place.

Another beautiful church, the Southwark cathedral.

This one didn’t prohibit photos.

Jumping on and off the subway. Middle of the day was much less crowded.

Over to a lovely park - Southwark.

There was a playground...and this lovely steep slide.  I couldn't resist....

And pretty views of the Thames.

Stopped by a “chippie” for some great fish n chips!

And finally we stopped by St Paul’s Cathedral for some beautiful views. Unfortunately they wanted almost  £30 for a tour inside. No thanks!

It is quite lovely.

And lastly, we stopped by a National Rail station just to make sure our rail passes will work tomorrow as we depart London.  At 19,000 steps, it's time to put the feet up for the day!

  1. Nice photos. Such cool old buildings compared to the US. Wanted to see your video of the slide, but it was "private".

  2. Hey Kris, don’t know why it was private but you should be able to see it now.

Loved all the church-y photos...and the BIG slide...reminds me of our trip to Omaha...but that one looks bigger...
