Hog Cay, Ragged Islands, Bahamas

It's about time to get ready for Maxine's "Valentines" party....obviously, it's late this year because Maxine has been in Nassau for months taking care of her sick daughter.

We will likely be cooking the conch fritters over the charcoal grill again so we wanted to go prepared with lots of small wood pieces to fuel the fire.  Off to shore where there is a bunch of hard driftwood.

Duane using Ralph's sawzall to cut the tough wood.

3 heavy 5 gallon buckets packed tightly should burn for several hours.

Back to the boat.....I painted my toenails to match the water!!😁

Then late in the afternoon we motored in light winds several miles down to Hog Cay....only about 15 boats here so not nearly as many as usual for Maxine's party.

Duane and I were sitting on deck and saw a very unusual sight!  Note the pink tone of the bird - a flamingo!!!  Too bad it did not fly closer for a better photo.  Still exciting to see.

We did not go ashore for sundown....just a lazy evening on the boat.  Tomorrow we'll join the group of cruisers to prepare the cruiser hut for the party on Saturday.
