Underway northbound to NC

We had an uneventful short run up to Vero Beach.  Over to the fuel dock to fill up with diesel and water.

Topped off for the coming trip, we also needed some fresh food.  All we have left is some canned goods....so we contacted our Manta friends Scott and Tina to see if they were in town and could loan us their car again for a quick grocery run.....but unfortunately they were in Virginia visiting relatives.  No problem  they gave us their lock combo so that we could get the keys out of their house for their spare car.  Manta friends are the greatest!  Their house is just a short dinghy ride from the marina.

Their Manta that is docked behind their house.

We stopped by Burger King for a fun dose of fast food.....Impossible Whoppers.  Yum!!   I know this doesn't seem noteworthy to most of you, but it's been ages since I've had food not prepared on a boat!!

Shopping done, we returned the loaner car and locked the keys back in their house.  Loaded the groceries in the dinghy and returned to Sojourn.

Sojourn in the mooring field.  Crowded but we were on a mooring ball all to ourselves.

Later in the afternoon we decided it was time for a walk.  There is a nice park adjacent to the marina area.  We were walking on a boardwalk when a brown pelican swooped in.

He was obviously used to humans.....

But I guess I got a little too close......

We got back to the boat before the rains started....some lightning but not too close.  It rained for a good part of the evening.

We'll be moving north now at a good pace, leaving at dawn and anchoring wherever we end up at dusk.
