New Bight, Cat Island, Bahamas

Mid-day we decided to pull the anchor for a little 3 mile sail over to New Bight because it's Friday and the Fish Fry area should be alive tonight.....we haven't had a "restaurant" meal since we were at Black Point the first week in December so wanted to partake!

We just lifted the mainsail for the short sail in gusty winds - as we got closer the gusts topped 30 knots!  So we dropped the sail and motored the rest of the way.

Got busy with some laundry.  The sheets dried in about 10 minutes flapping wildly in the strong breeze.

We went for a nice beachwalk along the Fish Fry area.

We sat chatting with a few cruisers and a couple of ex-pats who now live on Cat Island.  Interesting stories.  Crystal, who is one of the owners of the little restaurant took good care of us.  They are building a much larger building nearby so next year it should be finished.

And my meal was delicious!  Cracked conch, too much but I almost finished it before giving up with a few pieces uneaten.  Back to the boat for an early night to sleep off the food and a few too many icy cold Kalik's!!
