Meek's Patch, Eleuthera, Bahamas

It was truly just a "boat day"....we didn't get off the boat.  We're staying at Meek's Patch just because it's protected from the winds.  There are tour boats with loud music blasting, zooming past all day long.  They are taking folks from Spanish Wells to the small bay where there are "swimming pigs"....strange business but we just stay away from all that.

Pretty here though.

I did do some cleaning chores and baked another loaf of bread.  I really need to get out the calculator and reduce the ingredient quantity by about 1/8th.   The recipe is for a 2 pound loaf - which is correct for my breadmaker.  But it almost always overflows the baking pan.

This is not really a true problem but it does make a bit of a mess on the lid where the loaf isn't supposed to touch.

I usually cut off the "extra" immediately and we eat it slathered in butter while it's still hot.

Quite yummy!!  I'm really pleased with the breadmaker purchase - so easy now that I have the right recipe.  Added bonus is that it doesn't use propane or heat up the cabin!

Other than that, I had a really lazy day - falling down the rabbit-hole of Youtube videos for a couple of hours, watching street musicians, then a Survivorman episode, then a couple of old-house renovations, then an abandoned pool renovation.  Talk about wasting time!!  Fun to do every once in a while.

For our movie entertainment we watched "The Menu".  A really strange foodie movie.....

  1. I will never understand “swimming pigs” as a tourist destination.
