Little Ragged Cut, Ragged Island, Bahamas

 Another day, another snorkel....

We timed it just right....swimming out the cut at slack tide.

The haul for the day - 4 nice ones!

One of them was just huge.  Even the smallest was a good size.  Duane took off the antennae  - these I steamed and removed the meat - vacuum packed it will be great to pull out for a quick yummy pasta dish.

The kids from Betsy were out on their sailing skiff having a relaxing time.

In the afternoon, Kris & Dean dinghied by and said they were going to go over to the trash dump - did we want to have them carry our trash over?  No, thanks, but we will join you!  And a similar discussion when they approached Sea Seeker.  So, with Joe and Tina, we had a flight of 3 Mantas head ashore.

Another reason to go that way - we wanted to check out the sailboat that the Haitian refugees used.  (The Bahamian Defense Force towed it over to the shoreline near the airport and tied it up.  Not sure what happens next, probably will just be left here to be torn apart in the next bad storm)

But I am awed....it's hard to imagine that 40+ young men were all on this boat for probably 5-7 days!  It is just so sad that they are so desperate.

On to the dump.  A short walk  - which we extended just for exercise to the airport.

Back at the boat, I was reading in the cockpit and kept hearing large splashes.   I grabbed the underwater camera and stuck my arm in the water under the boat.  Caught these cool photos of a nice sized sea turtle.

We went ashore for sundown - now only 5 boats in the anchorage since the frontal system is past.

Pretty sunset but no green flash.

So sad about the Haitians. Do you know what happened to them?
