Hog Cay, Ragged Islands, Bahamas

We're kindof in a holding pattern, just relaxing, enjoying the fine weather.

Kris & Dean wanted to go for a snorkel - so off we went to a couple of very small cays.

Very nice coral and fish.

Mr. Barracuda patrolling the area.

Looks like hundreds of fish hovering under a rocky ledge.

A little video of a busy reef.  (A little shaky, I know, sorry).

The islands were pretty small so the snorkel was only a half hour or less.  Off to a different island.

More pretty coral and fish.  I know, same old/same old!  But it is never boring to us - so relaxing.

Duane on the sea bead - he had seen this lobster from above and had dived down ready to shoot it (note the stretched black rubber band on his "loaded" spear pole).  But once down at eye level he decided the lobster was a bit small and left it for another year.  Objects often look much bigger from the surface as the water magnifies them.

But later he did spear a very nice one!  We're at our limit now based on our fishing permit - so we've given a few to Kris & Dean.  I have trouble eating them as fast as Duane can catch them!

Meshugga had arrived from Inagua yesterday to the main Hog Cay anchorage - we took the dinghy for a short visit to catch up.  (And I needed to pick up some flour they had bought for me in Inagua as I had used all mine).

We had a nice grilled dinner (steak for Duane and Mahi for me).  Watched a few episodes of Succession for a peaceful night all alone in our little cove.

And Happy Birthday to our oldest - Robert! (I'm pretty sure he never reads the blog...)

  1. Good photo of Duane, with the loaded spear and on zoom, can see the lobster.
    Happy birthday Robert 🍾🎈
