Sampson Cay, Exumas, Bahamas

In the morning we pulled anchor at the same time as Bluejacket to escape the rolly anchorage at Norman's Cay.   Had a very pleasant and speedy sail about 30 miles south to Sampson Cay.

As soon as we dropped the anchor, we had 3 nurse sharks circling the boat.  I assume other boaters are in the terrible habit of cleaning fish or throwing food overboard so these sharks think any boat is a free meal.

Was fascinating to watch them though.  They circled for hours but were undoubtedly disappointed with us as we did NOT throw anything overboard....

Just relaxed the afternoon away - pretty sunset but no green flash.  We'll continue to take advantage of the fairly strong NE winds to continue sailing south and using almost no diesel.

  1. Excellent photos of the nurse sharks. Did you take them with your Olympus?
