Hog Cay, Ragged Islands, Bahamas

 Another rainy day.....so I decided to make some bagels!  The stiff dough allowed to rise.  I wanted "everything bagels" - but I don't have poppy seeds or sesame seeds so I had to settle with adding dried onion and garlic flakes to the dough.

 

 

Separated the dough into 8 somewhat even balls.

 

 

 

Then poked a whole in the ball and loosely shaped the bagel.

 

 

 

Boiled a couple of minutes in sugar water.  This gives them that "tough" outer crust.

 

 

Ready for the oven - 25 minutes at 425F.

 

 

 

Turned out lovely.

 

 

All ready for toasting!  They are delicious and just the right amount of chewiness.
