Hog Cay, Ragged Islands, Bahamas

Had a beautiful sail 135 nautical miles south to the Ragged Islands overnite.

Started out at Staniel Cay with 25+ knots of wind.  Exciting sea state!  We only have our main sail up and it's got one reef in it.  (To shorten the sail due to the higher gusts).

Here's a little video I shot over the bow.  Fun!

About 18 hours later dawn was breaking across Racoon Cay.  The "rays" of sunshine were spectacular!

What If in the distance.

About 21 hours total time so that's an average of 6.4 knots.  Not bad for mainsail only with a reef!  (What If has a bit of difference in their sails so they put out their jib and had to slow down for us!)

When we anchored, we had the entire anchorage to ourselves!!  Was happy to see that the "Cruiser Hut" still appears to be in good shape.  I'm sure we'll enjoy some evenings ashore for happy hours and bonfires over the next few weeks.

We anchored right beside What If - they called on the VHF and invited us for breakfast!!  Yummy!  Ed had all the fixin's and even made fresh biscuits.   What a treat.

Soon two more boats had joined us in the anchorage - Panache and Sam the Skull, both boats we had met last year.

Even though I got 5 hours of sleep during the night shifts, I still think it's time for a nap!  We'll relax today and get to more energetic pursuits tomorrow.
