We had a lovely Partly Sunny day In Fernandina. Duane and I went out in the day to test his new iPad with the navigation programs. There’s always a derelict boat or two in anchorages....
The Westrock plant in the sun....since it's a paper mill, I wondered why the area doesn't stink of sulfur like I'm used to. Cathy pointed out that the wind has been blowing their exhaust offshore so I guess we don't get the worst of it onshore.
Two of the American Cruise Line ships were in harbour at Fernandina. Nice little town for a day stop.
After lunch we joined Ed & Cathy for a nice wander around town. Cool old buildings and Spanish moss hanging in the trees.
Just wonderful to be back in palm tree country!!
Kris and Dean are a few days ahead of us on the journey southbound. They texted that it was such a lovely day they had to get ice cream.....not to be outdone.....mint choc chip for me thanks!
We ended the day on Sojourn for a little bit of a parting meal. Grouper and lobster bites from last season.
Played an almost endless game of Golf - everyone scored exactly 50 at separate times (resetting their score to 0...) so the game went on for a long time. Good fun and then fond "see you down the road" sentiments as the What If crew went back to their boat. They have errands to run that will keep them in Florida until early December but we hope to see them in the Bahamas later in the season.
