Near St. Augustine, FL

Started the day early again - I guess I didn't realize how industrial Fernandina Beach area is.

There is a shipyard and these boats appear to be under repair.

The one in the white "shrink wrap" appears to be a Navy boat.

It was just a long day of motoring - again I seem to have timed it just wrong so that the currents were against us most of the day as we crossed in/out of different rivers/streams.

The "ritzy section" south of Jacksonville - all these lovely homes.

With pools and beautiful lawns.  I saw zero people - beautiful Sunday afternoon and not a single person enjoying their lovely house.

We'll stop at St. Augustine tomorrow and get on a mooring.  Here is the ugly winds we have coming in the next couple of days.  I think it will be Tropical Storm Nicole if it ends up getting a name.  Will probably not be a fun few days.....

This is the wind forecast for Thursday.  Gusting for about 48 hours up to 45 knots.  We're about 30 miles south of Jacksonville.  We'll likely relax on the boat during the worst of it as a dinghy ride would not be fun in that much wind!

  1. Take care my friend. Check your mooring and double up on your lines. Then sit tight. Let us know how you and Sojourn are.
