Guana Cay, Abacos, Bahamas

The MDI or "black box" electrical controllers on both new engines failed when we were in the Ragged Islands.  This meant that we had no way to stop/start/monitor the engines for the past 6 weeks.  Handy Duane, of course, had "wired around" the problem so we could manually stop/start the engines.

So, first thing this morning we tied up at Marsh Harbour Boat Yard for the warranty repair.  (I had contacted them long ago to arrange for the parts to be there since they, of course, had to come by mail boat!)

The Volvo technician was finished within a half hour.  (The box really was black!)

Because it's an electronic controller that he replaced, the tachometers reset to zero.  Great to have the RPM gauges working again!

That long-awaited task finished, we motored about 10 miles to Guana Cay.  This fine motor yacht passed us in the blustery Sea of Abaco.

And we anchored just off Grabber's bar, went in for a beer and to chat with Reid and Laurie.  Buddy and Sharon will arrive later tonight because their plane was delayed.  (Shockingly, the beers were $8 each - won't do that again!!)
